Rakesh Ghumatkar

Student of Sociology. Entrepreneur. Remote-First Founder. Independent AI Builder.

Rakesh Ghumatkar writes about society, social issues, politics, economics, and independent thinking. His writing explores how systems shape people, how institutions evolve, and how issues affect the common man. His perspectives combine sociology, entrepreneurship, and hands-on experimentation with emerging technology.

Across his work from sociology classrooms to entrepreneurship, from rural fieldwork to building AI-enabled platforms, one thread has remained constant: curiosity, independence, and the desire to build systems that make sense both socially and practically.

Journey

Where It Began

Rakesh completed his postgraduate studies in Sociology from Savitribai Phule Pune University, graduating with distinction and securing a university top rank. But education for him was never limited to marks or medals.

As a young volunteer, he worked with CRY-supported initiatives in rural Maharashtra, contributing to non-formal education and child emancipation programs. Those years shaped how he thinks about inequality, opportunity, and institutional power. Around the same time, he contributed editorial work to Arthbharti, an economics magazine, engaging deeply with questions of structural change.

Sociology did not just give him a degree. It gave him a lens to understand how systems influence people and how people can reshape systems.

Choosing Independence

In 2001–02, he made a simple but defining decision to build something of his own.

There was no grand plan. Just a clear intention to remain independent and accountable for his own direction. What began as a small venture gradually evolved into structured businesses serving global clients.

In 2013, he founded Perfect People Search, building talent acquisition systems that combined human insight with technology. Later, he co-founded OutboundAI, focused on AI-enabled outbound marketing and automation frameworks.

Through all of it, the goal remained steady. Build lean, effective systems that work in the real world.

Building Around Life, Not Against It

More than 13 years ago, Rakesh shifted to a fully remote work model, initially to take care of family responsibilities. It was not a productivity experiment. It was a life decision.

Over time, it became a philosophy.

He learned that when people are trusted instead of monitored, when outcomes matter more than hours, and when professional ambition coexists with personal life, teams perform better, not worse.

Remote-first was never about convenience. It was about trust.

Learning Without Permission

Rakesh does not come from a formal computer science background. Structured technical education was not available to him early in life. Instead, he relied on reading — extensively and consistently.

Reading became habit. Then discipline. Then advantage.

Across sociology, economics, management, technology, and eventually artificial intelligence, he learned by absorbing, experimenting, and building.

For him, AI is not a threat. It is leverage.
Not a substitute for thinking, but an amplifier.

AI Platforms

In 2025, alongside running his businesses, he independently built four functional AI-enabled platforms. These are used daily in his own workflow.

What He Writes About

Rakesh writes about society, societal issues, politics, economics, and questions that affect the common man. His essays explore how institutions shape behavior, how individuals navigate systems, and how independent thinking emerges outside traditional structures.

His writing typically focuses on:

  • Society and social systems
  • Politics and public discourse
  • Blind beliefs and social conditioning
  • Issues affecting the common man
  • Economics and everyday life
  • Work culture and independent thinking
  • AI as a tool for individuals

On Writing

My work is shaped by self-learning, reading, and practical experience across sociology, business, and technology.

As English is not my first language, I sometimes use AI tools to refine language or structure, but the ideas, interpretations, and conclusions are always my own.

Beyond Work

Outside structured work, Rakesh values independence, reflection, and time away from formal environments. Whether riding, reading, or simply observing everyday life, these quieter spaces often shape the perspectives that later appear in his writing.
